Frequently asked question

Dallas Casket Delivery Details & Coverage

Planning a funeral is heavy enough without added confusion. Many families don’t realize they can buy their own casket directly from an independent retailer, often at lower cost, while still receiving full support from their chosen funeral home. Federal law protects this choice, so you’re never required to purchase through the funeral home.

Below, you’ll find answers to common questions about the FTC Funeral Rule, casket delivery Dallas families rely on, sizing, materials, and payment. Whether planning ahead or arranging today, our team is here to guide you with care and transparency.

Buying Directly From Us

1Is purchasing a casket straight from your shop — rather than through a funeral home — actually allowed?

It is. Pick the casket that's right for your family, and we'll handle the casket delivery Dallas families rely on to whichever funeral home is handling the service. Federal regulations protect your right to source a casket independently, and the funeral home is obligated to accept and use it. We’ve delivered to just about every funeral home within a 100 mile radius over the years. We can just as easily deliver to a home address or a holding facility if that suits you better.

2Am I permitted to bring in my own casket to the funeral home?

Yes — everywhere in the country. The Federal Trade Commission's Funeral Rule protects your ability to bring a casket bought from an outside seller, and the provider may neither turn it away nor demand your presence at delivery. It rarely if ever happens anymore but if it does and we’re not the ones delivering then reach out to us immediately.

3If I supply my own casket through your store, will the funeral home tack on a handling charge?

They can't. Federal rules bar funeral providers from adding any casket-handling charge or markup when you bring your own casket. A single, non-declinable service fee is permitted — but nothing extra simply for accepting the casket we deliver.

4Is my presence required when the casket shows up at the funeral home?

Not at all. You're free to attend, but it's entirely optional, and a funeral home may not condition acceptance on your inspecting the casket first. If being there matters to you, tell us and we'll give you advance notice of the delivery window.

Delivery and Ordering

5What are your delivery timeframes, and which areas do you serve?

Being based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex lets us frequently deliver the same day or the next day to nearby funeral homes. We cover the entire DFW region and reach into neighboring parts of Texas and Oklahoma when required. Share the funeral home and the date, and we'll lock in the timing.

6Can the casket go somewhere other than a funeral home — like my house?

Yes. Most orders ship straight to the funeral home, but we're happy to deliver to a private home or a storage unit — handy for pre-planning or if you'd rather take receipt yourself. We'll set an appointment so someone can be on hand to sign for it.

7May I purchase in advance and schedule delivery for a later date?

Definitely. Plenty of families buy early to secure current pricing and record their preferences. We'll keep the details on record and deliver whenever needed — whether that's a few months or several years down the road.

8Once my order is in, what comes next?

We verify everything with you and take over from there. You'll get a confirmation, and we monitor the shipment to ensure the casket reaches the funeral home or address you specified on schedule and in flawless condition.

9What if the casket turns up damaged or behind schedule?

It seldom happens, but if a casket ever arrives damaged, decline the delivery, snap a few photos if possible, and call us — we'll dispatch a replacement right away or refund you in full. We watch every shipment carefully, and if one can't make the service in time, we'll set it right.

Casket Options & Features

10How do I know what casket size to order, and do you stock larger sizes?

Our standard models measure 24 inches across on the inside and accommodate the majority of adults. For larger builds, we stock a complete lineup of wide-body caskets in several interior widths. If you're unsure, your funeral director can verify the fit, and we're always available to help you decide.

11Is anything else needed, or does the casket arrive complete with pillow and throw?

It arrives complete. Each casket comes fully assembled with its lining, pillow, adjustable bed, and throw already in place — nothing further to buy. It's ready for your loved one the moment it's delivered.

12Can you explain 18-gauge versus 20-gauge steel?

“Gauge” describes how thick the steel is: an 18-gauge shell is meaningfully thicker and heavier than a 20-gauge one, and priced accordingly. Both are well-made, sealable caskets — 18-gauge is simply the heavier option some families gravitate toward.

13How does a half-couch casket differ from a full-couch one?

With a half-couch design, the lid is split into two separately opening halves, and usually only the top half is raised for viewing. A full-couch casket uses one continuous lid that reveals the entire body. The half-couch style is the far more popular of the two.

14Do your caskets seal and lock?

Most of our metal caskets are sealable and is reflective in price. They come with a rubber gasket seal and a lock that opens using a standard Allen key kept at every funeral home. Wood caskets are all non-sealed. Keep in mind no casket from any maker can be promised to stay sealed indefinitely, though a gasketed model does help hold back moisture.

Payment

15Which payment types do you take, and can I use financing or an insurance policy?

We take all major credit and debit cards plus other everyday payment methods. Pay-over-time financing may be an option, and in many situations a casket can be covered via a life-insurance assignment. Just ask and we'll explain what's available.
